  • 1.  PGP Deskop on Windows Server 2012 R2

We are currently running an old PGP Deskop on Windows Server 2003.  The PGP Desktop that creates encrypted drives that can be mounted as drive letters, not whole disk encryption.   I have two questions:

    1) What is the exact product that replaced PGP Deskop and provides as a bare minmimum this encrypted drive/container mounting.  Is it Enpoint Encryption?

    2) Does it support Windows Server 2012 R2 yet?

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi kenw232,

The feature that you are looking for is PGP Virtual Disk.
The product is now called Symantec Encryption Desktop which is available is several packages.
Probably the most basic package offering that feature is Symantec Encryption Desktop Storage. If you also need Disk Encryption, then you probably need Symantec Encryption Desktop Corporate or Symantec Encryption Desktop Professional.

Please check Mapping of PGP Product Names to Symantec Encryption - TECH197084.

According to the release notes, the latest version supports Windows Server 2012. Please review the release notes which you can find in the article: Symantec Encryption Desktop 10.3.2 for Windows Release Notes - DOC7053.
