Running SEP 12.1 RU6 with embedded database. Enough disk space on server drive. Reduced nr of definitions from 90 to 30. Reduced some logs from 30 days to 7 days. Running liveupdate starts downloading until 82% and then exits with error messag that liveupdate server cannot be contacted.
Restarted the services and server and still same things persist. On the logs it shows as no new definitions available.
Also ran the symhelp tool and all looks ok.
What else can I do?
I have also downloaded the jdb file and tried manually updating the SEPM and not luck.
Total amount of clients 688+-
Might be problem in proxy or some other network cache.
Check also IE settings.
Checked IE settings are fine. Can connect to internet and downloaded the intelligent updaters with no issue.
See screenshot for LU error.
Have you run symdiag to see what it shows?
Please check this article:
Verify the version of Liveupdate or try reinstall, clean the LOGCATALOG.
I've also experienced the same issue. The virus definition of your SEPM is corrupted.

Did this and still nothing.
About to run the repair , but waiting on customer for embedded password and/or upgrade. Will keep you guys posted.
Thanks for all the feedback.
Good news. After reducing the number of revisions kept , reducing log settings and changing the liveupdate proxy settings SEPM is now downloading updates.
