  • 1.  Download Insight is Malfunctioning error

    Hi Experts,

    We need your assistance to solve a issue as below.

    We are getting "Download Insight is Malfunctioning"  error alert/GUI after uninstalling PTP feature from a 2008 server . We had already rebooted the server but the issue remains same.

    SEP Version Installed: 12.1 RU5

    Features installed: Only Antivirus & Antispyware

    Server OS: Windows Server 2008

    Error: Download Insight is Malfunctioning error

    Descriptive error: Download Insight is not functioning correctly due to an Intrusion pprevention component

    Error screenshot enclsoed in this thread.

    Would appreciate an swift response.

    Please run a repair via add/remove programs and see if that corrects it.

    Have you tried a reboot of the box? What OS? How long has this been going on?

    Hi Brian,

    Already done with the steps suggested by You. This is happening since last 2-3 days. the same issue is on 2-3 Servers . All these servers are on Win2k8

    Was this an upgrade or a fresh install? You can try cleanwipe.

    Otherwise Enable advanced debugging

    Did you disable IPS content for this particular server?

    Yes,  IPS content for this particular server is disabled.

    further based on my check from the link provided by you  i could see that it is applicable for

    Windows XP Professional SP3, Windows 7 Enerprise Edition SP1
