I'm just setting up two new Brocade SN 300 (8.0.2c) and I've got a set on the new switches called switch persistent and I'm unsure what this does? I think it's something to do with 'persistent binding' but not im not 100% on this. My old switches don't have it but they are running software from the 6.xx range.

Can someone explain this setting to me please as I can't find much online about it?

Thanks (p.s. im new to FC networking!)

@Mike Clifford  This setting refers to the setting that the switch gets persistently  disabled.  There is a "switchdisable" that would disable the switch (meaning all FC forwarding will be switched off), but would enable the switch again after a reboot.   The switch persistent disable (CLI: switchCfgPersistentDisable)  keeps the switch in a "disabled" state even after reboots.  So better only change this setting for maintenance reasons...
