Fabric Subordinate & Principal

    Hello Folks,

Quick question. I can't find a command that I can run that will give me the switch role for all switches within my fabric, so this spawned me running a timely Brocade SAN Health.

I did not setup the original fabric in this environment years ago, I was not around.

I noticed though that ALL switches within the fabric are listed as "subordinate". Why would this be? Why would there not be a "principal" within the fabric?

I understand the priority or lowest WWN would assign the "principal" election to a switch, but then I would expect one of the switches to say "principal".

Well, this is a new one. I would have to guess that all switches would have to have had the fabricprincipal --disable command run on them.

Yes, they apparently have, so you said it, this is confusing to me as well.

When I quickly do a search within the SAN health document for "switch role", they ALL say "subordinate". So, if that's the role of all of the switches then like I said, it doesn't make much sense.
