moving blades between dirextor chassis

    Hi,

If I moved a 48 port 32gbps FC blade from one chassis to another chassis and both chassis have the same licenses installed, will that blade just work? Or does some sort of licensing change have to be done on the destination chassis in order for it to work?

    Thanks in advance :)

    Hello,

as far as i know the license should be activated per slot not for blade so its should be okay to move blades around chassis with same licenses.

Generally, on Director class Switches, the entire chassis don't required any Port License, nor Slot License excepted on DCX with FX8-24 Routing Blade, this blade need a capacity License.

Second from you native post, you have a X6 Class Director, here the same as by the DCX all FC Port are Licensed by default, additional Gen 6 Routing Blade are native Licensed in the FOS, any License is no longer required.
