Fabriclog --show : removing all nodes from port

  • 1.  Fabriclog --show : removing all nodes from port

    Posted 07-25-2017 06:01 AM

    Hello Team

Could anyone help me understand this: I have pasted my fabriclog --show output of brocade 5300.

I could see the last line as: *Removing all nodes from port  A2,P0  A2,P0  9  . I understand this as the the port 9 removing the node(host port) connected to it. But i could see this host port online in storage.

    What actually this line means?

    09:11:06.788007 SCN Port Offline;g=0x1b0                    A2,P0  A2,P0  9     NA

    Hello,

I have checked your logs and compared with others fabric logs. My suspicion is that fabriclog is wrapped or you don't have captured the latest event for that port.

    09:14:33.448672 SCN Port Online;g=0x1b2                     A2,P0  A2,P1  9     NA
    09:14:33.448832 SCN Port F_PORT                             A2,P1  A2,P0  9     NA
09:14:33.448847 *Removing all nodes from port               A2,P0  A2,P0  9     NA

Can you capture agin without filter (all ports) for the period around 09:00 and 09:20

Make sure also you have captured the good time and day from the logs.

    Hi,

the "Removing all nodes from port" line is normal for all port state changes. Be it online or offline. Or even for all offline ports after hafailover, etc..

The thing indicating a port going online or offline in fabriclog are the SCN Port Online and SCN Port Offline lines.
