Introduction:

The necessity for this technical document comes up on the researches for a case where we did not get

any Alarms in the SOI Console from a SNMP Connector running in a Catalyst Container after policy extentions has been added for customization purposes.

Question:

Where do we have to store the main connector policy and extention policy files in a Catalyst Container environment ?

Environment:

Catalyst Container 3.4.x all Connectors running in Catalyst Container servers

Answer:

Following is a description about where to store extension policies for Connectors running in a Catalyst Container.

The main policy for a connector must be stored in the following directory:

   …\CatalystConnector\registry\topology\physical\<server>_CatalystConnector\modules\policy

Extension policies must be stored in the following directory (the last two directory-levels might not exist and thus must be created manually):

   …\CatalystConnector\container\data\Core\Catalogpolicy\extensions

There are two sub-directories with the same names, but they should not be used, because the system does not look for policies in these directories.

It is unknown to me what these directories are used for.

   …\ CatalystConnector\connector_registry\topology\physical\<server>_CatalystConnector\modules\policy

   …\ CatalystConnector\container\resources\Core\Catalogpolicy\extensions
