Apr 05, 2018 05:24 PM

Upgrading to DevTest 10.3

  • To upgrade to DevTest 10.3 you must request a new license file..
  • A new license file does not change your existing licensing model.

Renew a Current License

When you renew your current current license, the new licensing model is applied.

New Customers

The new licensing model is applied that tracks transaction consumption for new customers.

How to Request a New License File

To use DevTest version 10.3, you must request a new license. There are several scenarios when you will be required to request a new licence.

  • To upgrade from DevTest 10.2 or earlier.
  • Your license file is expired.
  • You want to install multiple Enterprise Dashboards with pre-defined Mac addresses.

To request a new license file, please follow the steps below:

  1. Collect the Mac address of the machine where you will be installing the Enterprise Dashboard.
  2. Identify the name and email address to send the license file.
  3. Contact CA Support or your account representative to request a new license file and provide the the details from step 1 and 2.
  4. The support team will create a new license file (devtestlic.xml) and send it to the email address identified in step 2.

You can download DevTest 10.3 directly from the Download Management section of the CA Support site

10.3 requires a MAC address only for new and renewal customers. Existing customers do not need it.

In the Subject field:  "Requesting License for DevTest 10.3.0"

If you are new user of DevTest and have never had a license or renewing your license, then specify the MAC address of the machine where the Enterprise Dashboard is running.  If you have multiple Enterprise Dashboards, you will need to request multiple licenses specifying the MAC address for each machine.

If you are requesting a new license and an existing user and your license has not expired, you do not need to provide the MAC address

Ok.

And how do I find my MAC Address on a server with three network cards? When I do ipconfig /all I see.  I assume it will be the mac address of the Front adapter and not the backup or management adapter.

Any 10.3 install whether it is fresh or upgrade from a prior version requires a new license file.

You mention renewal and new customers need a new license for 10.3. For our customer we currently have a license that seems to support 10.x installations. I can see:

<product>LISA</product>
<issuedate>12/18/17 16:23:06 -0600</issuedate>
<validuntil>12/30/18 00:00:00 -0600</validuntil>
<type>Server</type>
<versions>8,9,10</versions>
<acts>1</acts>

Will this work for the 10.3 installation or do we still need to renew our license?
