02-05-2016 04:54 AM

Summary
This document describes a custom Linux bash shell script that retrieves a list of all devices that are assigned to a given vendor certification.

Background
Customers like to know which and how many devices are affected by a particular vendor cert.

Prerequisites

  • shell access to one of the Data Repository / Vertica nodes
  • dbUser name (as specified on the DA in /opt/IMDataAggregator/apache-karaf-*/etc/dbconnections.cfg)
  • internal name of the vendor cert (can be full name or a substring)
the internal name can be retrieved from CA PM user interface:
on CA PC / Data Aggregator / Vendor Certifications, add the column for Internal Name:

Installation
Unpack the zip archive and copy the script file to a directory of choice on any Data Repository / Vertica node.

Usage
./getDevicesWithVC.sh <dbUser name> <internal vendor cert name>

Example

/getDevicesWithVC.sh dauser HuaweiEntity

Given the OpenAPI improvements in PM 3.0 and later, such requests can more easily handled with OpenAPI query. Use the vendor cert display name in the filter condition.

E.g. which devices support the Interface (low speed version) vendor cert?
