Issue : ProxyManager and Java Event Forwarder Service will not start
To Resolve:
Check the proxymanager.properties file in <installdir>/AccessControlServer/Services/ProxyManager/conf.
There should be 3 variables present of which there is only 1 and it isreferencing a Unix system path. Update yours with the following. This hasresolved 3 installations for me so far.
Discovered in a case related to the above, it is also worth checking <AccessControlServer>\apache-tomcat-7.0.54\conf\capim.properties.
If this file does not exist create it, or if it has a unix path edit it, with the one line below (assuming you have installed PIM in the default location)
capim-server-home=C:\\Program Files\\CA\\AccessControlServer
After editing the file, restart the "Apache Tomcat 7.0.54" service.
The problem will manifest itself with proxy recordings not being able to play back with the message:
The Connection has been closed because the server is taking too long to respond.
And the following message in <AccessControlServer>\apache-tomcat-7.0.54\capimiclient.log:
2015-12-02 10:06:04,028 [ERROR] [com.ca.pim.proxy.client.PIMSessionPlayWebSocketServlet] - Failed getting database credentials.java.io.FileNotFoundException: \opt\CA\AccessControlServer\Services\ProxyManager\conf\database.properties (The system cannot find the path specified)
Here is the example from a default setup:
proxymanager.properties
# Location of the recording files in the file system
recording_files_folder=C:\\Program Files\\CA\\AccessControlServer\\Services\\ProxyManager\\Recordings
JBOSS_HOME=C:\\jboss-4.2.3.GA
TOMCAT_HOME=C:\\Program Files\\CA\\AccessControlServer\\apache-tomcat-7.0.54
