tech tip - PM 2.0 - Disaster/Recovery setup and procedure

This document details the steps required to be prepared for a disaster/recovery scenario in PM.

Some context for the outlined procedure:

  • IP addresses and hostnames are unique in the two environments (primary and secondary)
  • Not designed for individual component failures – this is for a complete datacenter failure scenario
  • Process is not automated (but can be scripted to customer needs)

Dear Kishan Silva Ratnayake :

        Why it always tell me that it can't find the node. When I run the ./vbr.py --config-file cluster copy.ini --task copycluster

Can you help to solve this issue ?

 

the failure issue is:

node dbNode is not found in cluster

copycluster failed!

I also found the solution for the timeframe problem... just took chrome and now it's visible...

thanks for providing us this paper... it helped me to setup a Desaster Recovery IM (2.3.4) environment. But I have a small Problem. When I login to the Backup Perf Center the Timeframe Bar where I can chosse e.g. the last4 Hours is missing ...

 

And another question is how can I restart the Data Aggregator remotely e.g.

ssh user@host "/etc/init.d/dadaemon start"  won't work  but stopping it this way did work!

 

Do you have any idea?
