Tech Tip NetQoS NPC - How to get a record of who logs into the product.

May 15, 2015 12:04 PM

NPC, NV, and NFA do not keep any record of who logs into the product. Because of this it is not possible to get a report from any of the products on who logs in and when.

However SSO does record it into logs.

The logs are located in:

D:\NetQoS\SingleSignOn\Logs\

They are named in the format of SingleSignOnAuditLog<Date>.log

Here is a sample entry showing the user name and time logged on.

12:18:56 5 - Single Sign-On Audit:

Message = Successful manual authentication.

Sign-In Page Username = test2user

Keep in mind that having multiple people using the same login name such as nqadmin, will diminish the value of the logs since then all you will see are many entries for the same user.

Sign-In Page Username = nqadmin

Also the log may show no user name. For example if the application was loaded via a link in another application such as NPC from with in NV, or NV via NPC Data Sources.
