Alexander Zverev vs Stefanos Tsitsipas Predictions

Both Alexander Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas are trying to reach their first French Open final. Tsitsipas was very good in a straight-sets win over Daniil Medvedev while Zverev has faced little opposition, and the head-to-head strongly favours Tsitsipas.

Alexander Zverev has never won a set against a top-10 player at the French Open

Alexander Zverev Form

Alexander Zverev has now won 14 straight sets since losing his first two of the French Open 2021 to Oscar Otte.

The 2020 US Open finalist dropped just six games against Kei Nishikori in the fourth round and then just six games against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the quarterfinals.

World no. 46 Davidovich Fokina is the highest-ranked player Zverev has faced, and he was physically hollowed out by playing lengthy matches in preceding rounds.

Zverev’s record against top-10 players over best-of-five sets is damning, and his record against Tsitsipas doesn’t bode well either. He has given himself the best chance to compete physically by winning his last four matches in straight sets.

Stefanos Tsitsipas Form

Monte-Carlo Masters champion Stefanos Tsitsipas has compiled a 38-8 record in 2021, with highlights including beating Rafael Nadal to reach the semifinals of the Australian Open.

He is now 21-3 on clay this year after scoring a stellar victory over Daniil Medvedev to reach the semifinals of the French Open for the second year running. Tsitsipas, who dropped his only set of the tournament so far to John Isner in the third round, was 1-6 against Medvedev coming into the match.

The Greek showed what a wonderful clay-court player he is, exploiting Medvedev’s limited movement on this surface and flat ballstriking to win 6-3, 7-6(3), 7-5.

Tsitsipas won well above 70% of points on both his first and second serves and hit 33 winners for 24 unforced errors. These are incredible stats given the quality of the opposition he faced, particularly in the second and third sets.
