This training session will help new users to understand the major modules and functions within Rally, how to create and update work items and the three key dimensions of Rally - Projects, Work Items and time boxes - and how together they define the scope of work for a team. This session is essential for learning the basics of using the tool.

2. Rally for Scrum Teams - Sept 17 9am - 11:30pm CT

Rally can help you to make faster and smarter decisions to ensure that the work of your teams and programs is aligned to your business objectives and this class helps product and program managers, executives and other stakeholders learn how to leverage the key parts of Rally quickly. In this 2-hour session we’ll show you how to create your portfolio of work and track the progress of that portfolio to ensure that the work of your teams aligns to the goals of your business.

Recommended prerequisites:

  • Basic understanding of Agile portfolio management and scaling practices
  • Attendance at Rally for Everyone OR approximately one month experience as a Rally user

In this 3-hour session we’ll show you how to apply your knowledge of Agile practices to Rally, from user story creation through planning and execution to measuring results and continuously improving.

  • Attendance at Rally for Everyone OR approximately one month experience as a Rally user

4. Rally for Analytics Sept 29 9-12:30pm CT

A key principle of Agile is to regularly "inspect and adapt". Rally provides a rich set of charts, reports and data to help teams gather insights for improvement along their Agile journey. In this 3-hour session, we will show you how to effectively read, interpret and act on common charts and reports in Rally to help your team become a top performing Agile team. This class is geared towards team members, scrum masters and product owners.

  • Basic understanding of Agile role and ceremonies
  • Attendance of Rally for Everyone OR approximately one month experience as a Rally user

  • Quick review of the basics around data entry and data updating in Rally
  • Importance of using data to gather insight for continuous improvement
