Abstract: In 1998, Alan Cooper revolutionized how technology products are designed: build to suit a persona. Personas are archetypes that define the roles and responsibilities of the various stakeholders. At CA, Pete became the voice of the IT operations line-of-fire role, while Kyle handled all the responsibilities around administering the product. These personas and a half dozen more came to define CA’s approach to building the newest generation of Application Performance Management. In this talk, we’ll briefly cover the Cooper methodology, then highlight the hot new functionality it created in APM 10.
