Can anyone provide me with a basic list of expressions that would be useful for finance?

    For example:

Is there an expression to sum? Clarity is making me type into a "constant" field which is blank.  I would love to be able to select a column such as "Allocation" and somehow write an expression to sum the allocation.

Also, when I go into the powerfilter, it shows a dropdown for "left", but sometimes there aren't the same selections that show up on the previous screen for my filter.  Is there a way to create an expression to select a column from the previous filter screen? It would be nice to have that column added in the powerfilter section so that it matches the filter section on the previous screen.

    Thanks for the help!

Power filters don't allow for calculations, only to filter on what data is present in an attribute (as far as I'm aware anyway). Which fields are available depends on what the portlet and underlying query have available, each one would be different. You can create calculated attributes which does allow for some basic arithmetic and stuff, but still wouldn't allow to sum up timescaled values like allocation which it sounds like what you are after. If there isn't already an aggregate field available (would need more details on what specifically you're looking at) you would likely have to create a process that does the calculations for you and puts them in to a new custom field

"Sums" (and other statistical things) of numeric columns are set in the "Aggregation" section of a portlet - either in thr portlet design (in the Studio part of the admin menu) or locally by a user through the "Configure" options (if the portlet allows this).

The discrepancy between the filter field names in a normal filter (in the portlet) main screen and those in the "power filter" options is less easy to explain -  for a NSQL based portlet these should match (but irritatingly may not match the column headings on the displayed data - there are separate places where an field is given a "display name" one for the filter-section and one for the list-section). For portlets based on system data-providers (or objects), the available fields may vary more and I would think that that is just down to how those system data-providers have been coded - so experimentation and familiarity is the only way to get a good idea I thing

I'm running into a similar issue. I have a customer wanting to filter a portlet by a calculated field to filter down to only displaying projects with a total budget > a certain dollar amount. I'm not able to add a Power Filter to the portlet that filters by this calculated field.

Any suggestions of how to filter in this way? We are still on Classic PPM SaaS.
