Hello Rally Community - it's a great day!
The new and improved Timeline view is finally here and we could not be more excited to bring it to you. I know that we have been fairly quiet over the last quarter, but that has been because we listened to you and took a necessary step back to build a strong foundation that will allow us to build many of the features you all have requested.
New Features
Just because we were re-working the foundation that doesn't mean we ignored the most requested changes - here are the marquee items that this release will bring:
- The ability to read the full name of your item regardless of its size on the timeline
- A less "cluttered" view with predictable dragging
- Clearer status badges
- A proper "Project" filter (replaces the "hide empty rows" band-aid)
- Expansion of items down to your lowest Portfolio Item level
- Moved to a "Group By Parent" (or direct item) listing sorted by Project and then by Rank
(If you loved the Project swimlanes, they will come back as a view option in the near future)
Where to From Here?
This might be the most exciting part for us because we are now set to get back to delivering you updates on a regular basis - and we have some cool things coming up. Chief amongst them are more options to further customize the view for your individual needs and to bring more time box tracking features to the party.
More on all of that as it develops, but in the meantime I look forward to seeing many of you in our product office hours - and as always - please continue smashing that feedback button! All of your comments, good and bad, help us so much.
