  • 1.  Instance delete right

In the recent webcast Clarity Security Made Simple  documentation (Revive the ePMO - Clarity Security Made Sustainable.pdf ) it was said
How does that Instance Delete work?

It gives the right to delete an instance and when you use it and delete the instance the right refers to an instance which does not exist any more.
    Am I missing something?

    Hi Martti,

The instance delete right can be added to a resource for any existing instance of an object:
Once the instance associated with this right is deleted, the specific instance is removed from the list, but the user retains the right, even though it is not associated to any instances of the object.
Once all the instances a resource has Delete (or Edit) rights are all removed, the instance right is removed from the user automatically:
Note that this only applies to custom objects and sub-objects.  Custom investment types do not support instance or OBS delete rights, at least not as of 16.1.1.

    Hope this clarifies the behaviour.

Thanks for the quick and detailed response. Sounds like this would have marginal use, but the design is well thought.

Just wondering: If the resource has delete right to just one instance and that is deleted isn't the right deleted as soon as the instance is deleted?

That is if the user has no other instance delete rights when would the second screen come and not just the third?
