Has anyone see Fatal error: Null object reference at line 148 in open event of object w_data_sample.

We have started getting this error whenever we try to run Data Profiler > Sample Table Data > Sample Data.

The session crashes with the above message and this is in the log:

Any ideas as to why would be appreciated.

Hi Lawrence,

I've not run across that specific error message, but I suggest trying the PII scan from TDM Portal, and not the Datamaker Data Profiler. The TDM Portal PII scan is the preferred method of scanning your data models.

If you must use Datamaker, then I suggest running Datamaker in debug mode, see https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article?articleId=9609, and providing support with:

• The Datamaker debug logs
• A copy of the DDL and relations of the tables you are scanning
• The type of database you are working with
• A sample of the data for the table that the scan is failing on.
