Creating an interface for employees to change your own contact_id (CA SDM internal password)

Sep 16, 2015 01:53 PM

Sometimes we need extend CA SDM functionalities, therefore can be necessary create them. CA SDM has a powerful control about security credentials but using EEM we can administer some LDAP tool. It's everything ok to use inside company on AD (Active Directory) or also Open LDAP, etc..

and if...

we have a a big number external clients! What can we do? What way can we follow? Administer all clients? It's consolidating nowadays a self-administration of credentials, we can remember password, send a pass to mobile (SMS), etc..

an easy way...

create a simple password screen to users/clients,

How do it:

WARNING: The procedure isn't safe. jmayer  comment

You can see some password recommendations documented by CA on About Password Security - CA Single Sign-On - 12.52 SP1 - CA Technologies Documentation

It's other application but password recommendations always is good way.

Hi jmayer,

   Thank you for your improving this doc.

using pin authentication (not recommended) you need at less to:

1/ have your server responding only on SSL(otherwise password will be transmitted in clear text over the network.

2/ Using some .js library to encrypt your password in the mdb vs. per default in clear text.

my 2 cents

I managed to make it work doing the following:

                  Mi Perfil

      </td>

function ContactInfo(cst_persid)

{

                var fid = fid_generator();

                var url = cfgCgi + "?SID=" + cfgSID + "+FID=" + fid + "OP=SHOW_DETAILFACTORY=cnt+PERSID=" + cst_persid ;

                document.location.href = url;

}

Thanks!

Hola jmraimundo,

Por casualidad se le olvidó el paso seis, la función javascript? Ocurrió algún error?

Did you see step 06?

I follow the steps above to create a link for my Employee interface to access the contact info, but it is not working!

Just putting this on my home.htmpl it didn´t work, it didn't create the link:

<tr>

      <td style="padding-left: 15px;" onclick="OpenMyOwnContact();">

              My own information

      </td>

</tr>

So I changed to this:

<tr>

      <td style="padding-left: 15px;" onclick="OpenMyOwnContact();">

            <PDM_LINK>  My own information </PDM_LINK>

      </td>

</tr>

I guess there is something wrong with this.

When I click on the My own information, it throws me a screen saying that the session was refused.

Above is possible only for PIN field authentication .

We can integrate CA SDM out of box EEM  then credentials will be safe and user can also change.

in PIN field authentication ,credential are stored in DB as clear text.

Cheers
