Hi All,

We are using this integration to create the departments in PPM from external third party system (for example: SAP). We have delivered this to multiple customers to automate the creation of departments in PPM.

Please let me know if you need any further information.

We looked at this adapter from my previous company for a singular reason - to automate the creation of Department OBS nodes in line with these being created in our ERP (also Peoplesoft). This was deployed, albeit with problems. The problems were on the Peoplesoft side, as the field that we were pulling in for the node ID was not maintained uniquely on our Peoplesoft setup, which may have been unique to our deployment.

We had to use Cognos TM1 in addition to CA PPM to hold the historical posting / transaction expenditure transfers between departments in the GL. CA PPM only held the current Department against the resource.

The combination of the timesheets for the unique Resource ID in CA PPM in addition to the match to Peoplesoft and the Department that it held against a resource was done in Cognos TM1.

Our department structure in the GL was unwieldy and to large for us to import all of them into CA PPM to maintain, so we leveraged the Finance systems in conjunction with CA PPM to support what we needed to do.

Anyone using this adapter?  Would like to here from users, hear your feedback.

Have a customer interested in sync department assignments of resources between Peoplesoft and CA PPM.  Sounds easy accept for the posting of timesheets to financials prior to the effective change date.  In Peoplesoft, we have the history of a resource's department assignments and effective dates.  Would be great if CA PPM had same list and used it to post timesheets to financials.

CA PPM only has one field for Resource Department/Location assignment, no history, no effective dates.  If I have a resource with several past due timesheets and a department change in the middle of these, does this adapter make sure that correct departments are used for each timesheet when they are finally approved/posted and posted to financials?
