    Goog Morning

Which is best recommended to implement in a large company, CA Identity Suit through its Virtual Appliance or better configure each component of CA IDS, CA IDG, CA IDP, CA IDM separately.

    thank you.

This is opened under CA Directory space which I believe was by mistake. I suggest you post this same questions/inquiry under Identity Manager space to get better attention.

This is impossible to answer without specific details/requirements.

Typically, vApp is faster out of the box and a bit less customizable. For a new implementation, vApp is typically the better solution. On prem is more revelant to users who are migration older systems that have already been implemented.

    Hi @Mercy85

We highly recommend that you will use our Virtual Appliance (vApp) as it represents a tremendous improvement in performance,  easy of use, maintenance  and overall TCO.

Here are some of the highlights of the solution:

    • Business benefits:
Lower License Costs: Broadcom provided the OS, application server and directory
Lower Services Costs: No installer and simplified patches/upgrades
Lower DevOps Costs: Built-in centralized monitoring and Logging

    • No installer. No scripts. No training - everything is being done using either through web console or limited use CLI

    • Pre-integrated, high availability environment in a couple of clicks - Environment is up and running in minutes vs installing the standalone solution which can take weeks and even months. Also, cluster configuration is built in in the solution and will allow you to extend your environment either horizontally or vertically

    • Pre-defined recommendations for production deployments - We invested a lot of effort to make sure the vApp is fully optimize to maximize the resources allocated to it. When comparing standalone setup to the vApp, we see better performance which in turns reduce overall IT costs.

    • Available in OVA (VMWare) and AMI (AWS EC2) and AZURE (starting from version 14.3)

In regards to migration from older, standalone environments, we now have a set of tools and procedures called Migration Xpress that can assist you in migrating current customers to the vApp.

Finally, We see the vApp as a way of the future and believe that customer who are choosing to use it will benefits greatly from it.

    Thank you
