  • 1.  Siteminder WAM UI is not starting

    Hi Team,

     

    I installed siteminder admin UI[12.5] on windows machine [window 7],but when i start to admin UI services,i am getting the below error.

     

    "The Siteminder administrative UI service on the local computer started and then stopped.Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs"

     

    Not sure when this kind of error message occurs?Do anyone encountered the same issue? Can you please let me know to get out of this error?

     

    I am attaching the screenshot of the error as well along with this query.

    Hello,

     

    Did installation and configuration throw any error ?

    Also check logs of adminui what error is getting logged there, hopefully port used by Adminui is not being used by any other application.

    Hi Ankush,

     

    I did't see any errors in installation process.If i try to use the port [that was used by any other application], installation will throw an error,but it did't happen.

    I checked the log files as well,but it did't result anything.

    Hi Siva,

     

    Few more questions :--

    is policy server on same box  as wamui is and also is it up and running. ?

    Any error wrt this in smps.log ?

    Was registration of wamui done successfully ?

    Also are you start wamui manually using script via command line ( cmd ) ?

    Hi Ankush,

     

    I did't yet install my policy server.Once my admin ui installation is done,i can see the WAM UI page [but can't login,unless i install policy server],but that is not happening.

    If policy server installation is not done,there is no point of registering adminUI with policy server.

     

    I did't try to start wamUI manually using cmd,let me try that.

    Windows7 ???? Are we sure WAM UI is installed on Windows7 - because that is unsupported OS to begin with.

    Hi Dennis,

     

    I installed WAM UI on windows 7 earlier as well.At that point of time i did't face any issues.When i am trying to do on another machine now,i am seeing the error.

    Check the server.log under <adminui_install_root>/server/default/log folder. Let us know what error is recorded in the log file.

     

    Check the eventvwr in windows to see if anything is logged in the eventvwr.

    May be you need to check with the jboss is started properly.. and due you have any other application server installed? see why jboss is stopping. check the server logs and look for the errors.
