  • 1.  Identity Portal 14.3 - Disable Reset Password in Settings UI

    Posted Jul 24, 2019 02:25 AM
    Hi Team,
CA Identity Suite 14.3 vapp, will be integrate with AD domain for authentication. (Not using Userstore password).

In Identity Portal -> Settings, then there is tab "Reset Password" which allow user to reset their Corporate ID password.
But we are using AD authentication(Not Userstore password), so can we disable this "Reset Password" from Identity Portal UI ?

    regards,
    William

    Hi William,

You can turn this off in the Portal Admin UI in Setup -> General Configuration -> Reset Password.  However, I do believe this was taken into account in 14.2 and higher. The reset password will change the password directly on Active Directory if you are using that authentication module.

    Thanks,

    Jeremy

    Yes, that is correct.

Please see the following notes from the documentation.
If you configure the Active Directory authentication model, user password sets from the Forgotten Password or Reset Password tasks automatically propagate to both the CA Identity Manager User Store and the Active Directory server. Password status changes are detected during authentication. This requires an LDAPS connection between the CA Identity Manager Server and the Active Directory server.
