  • 1.  What is the default siteminder super user password in Policy Server

    Posted Oct 01, 2015 06:17 AM

    HI All,

I just installed policy server r12.52 SP1 in Linux. It did not ask for siteminder super user password and installation completed successfully.

Now while resetting the pasword using smreg, i am geting the below error

"./smreg: error while loading shared libraries: libsmartheap_smp.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

Can you please help to reset the siteminder super user password or any location where i can get the default siteminder super user password.

    Hi,

To run smreg correctly, you have to source the Policy Server environment before.

There is no out of the box password for siteminder user in the Policy Store. That is

why you have to set it when you configure the Policy Store at the first time.

    Best Regards,

    Patrick

Inorder to successfully run smreg, there are 2 prerequisite.

    1. Source ENV Variables (as suggested by Patrick).
    2. Use 'smreg' from the same version of Policy Server Install Binaries, do not try to use 'smreg' executable from a different version against a different version of Policy Server.
