  • 1.  Effects of using new entity on existing Datamart settings

    Posted Apr 20, 2012 08:50 AM
    Hi all,
Could anybody explain to me the effects of using a different entity for the Financial configuration to the entity currently configured within the Datamart Settings (which is now read only and cannot be changed)?
Is this likely to cause us any issues?

    Thanks

    Steve

My understanding is that only those items which belong to the specified entity go to the datamart others don't.
If it is read only as you say you cannot change that while there is data.
That means that you can only have one entity in the datamart and not data which belong to two or more entities.

You can clean datamart with NBI_Clean_Datamart_sp.
Because that leaves the OBS and stoplight as well as ada in NBI_PM_PT_FACTS and NBI_FM_PT_FACTS tables you might have the hack the sp to remove everything in order to be able to specify a new entity.

If you are on deman you cannot execute SP's and cannot initialize datamart.
So it is support (or services) all the way if you want to reinitialize or clean datamart.

    Hi all,
I have received the following reply from CA Support regarding this question:
You cannot change the entity once set up, there is a tec document which
    states the same.

    Document ID: TEC500348
    Tech Document
    Title: Clarity: Datamart Entity.

    Description

The Datamart setup requires to get an entity set up. This can only be set
once and cannot be modified. The Datamart can not be linked to multiple
    entities.

    Solution

The Datamart entity is only for setup purposes and is used as a 'default'
bucket for any non-financial investments. [color=#fa0000]Investments linked to other
entities will still show up in the Datamart tables.

Does anybody have any evidence to the contrary?

    Thanks
    Steve
