  • 1.  Sync OOTB PM field

    Posted Apr 08, 2020 05:28 AM
    Hello,

Is it possible to sync the OOTB project manager field in the Investment object into the Roadmap in future releases? I have had no luck in 15.6. so far

I am able to successfully sync the custom attributes by creating an attribute within the Roadmap Item though.

    Thanks in advance,
    Shayari

    Hi Shayari,

The only OOTB attributes you can sync are the system-defined roadmap items and attributes (metrics and dates) that are available by default. This is still the behavior in later releases (including 15.8 which is the latest)

For custom attributes, Synchronization is supported for the following datatypes:
    • static single-value lookups
    • simple data types (number, string, Boolean, date)
(Dynamic Lookups, Parameterized Lookups, Formulas, and Calculated Attributes are not supported.)
Here's a link to the 15.8 documentation where this is referenced for more details on Roadmap behavior in the newest release: https://techdocs.broadcom.com/content/broadcom/techdocs/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/business-management/clarity-project-and-portfolio-management-ppm-on-premise/15-8/using/new-user-experience-top-down-planning-with-roadmaps.html#concept.dita_bfa5994ce63f0514920f5445df85aa91039a15e6_SynchronizeRoadmapItemswithLinkedProjectCustomInvestmentorIdeaAttributes

    Hi Shayari,

As Christine has mentioned, custom attributes synchronization is not supported for all the datatypes.
However, we had developed a custom solution for one of our clients in the past to sync any of the Investment attribute (irrespective of datatype) into the Roadmap.
    The solution includes:
        1. Custom Object to define the attributes to be synced
        2. Custom Object to define the queries for logic of syncing the attributes
        3. Custom Process to sync the attributes based on defined logic in pt 2 using REST API script.
