  • 1.  Agile Central(Rally) to Jira Connector - Mapping Milestones

    Posted Jan 26, 2018 10:43 AM

CA Agile Central (Rally) to Jira Connector -  We are connecting Jira to Rally and would like to move the first milestone field over to the fix version in Jira.   Is this possible (would need to be just the first value) and if not is there a way to copy to a custom field in Rally and use that for mapping?  Or even map all values over to Jira and then grab and map the first value on that side.  Recommendations?

    Thanks.

Our Release equals our quarterly program increment releases and the milestone is for our synchronized maintenance releases.  So we really need the milestone for letting the ticketing system know when engineering will release an item.

Thank you for your question! At this time, the connector does not support syncing Milestone information between the two systems. However, you could add a custom field to an Agile Central Story or Defect that you could use to capture similar information as to what a Milestone contains, and then map the custom field to a corresponding JIRA field.

If mapping Milestones from Agile Central to JIRA is a must-have for your business needs, there is an option to discuss this with the CA Agile Central Technical Services Team. While they do charge a fee, they would be able to review your requirements and determine if they would be able to customize the connector to meet your needs.

I hope that this information helps!

    Thank you again!
