  • 1.  How to Rename Master Agent?

    Posted Jul 02, 2020 03:04 PM
    Hello All,

    I am trying to migrate my current Automic Application Manager to a new server. We are on 9.0.1 and will upgrade to 9.3. But the first step is to verify the migration to new server is fine.

    When I tried to re-configure the engine, I chose 01:

    Select option
    01 Initial Install/Upgrade from Prior version
    02 Reapply portions of upgrade ...
    03 Data Checks ...
    04 Setups ...
    05 Reset Applications Manager Password
    q Quit

    And it does show the old/new agent name I want to change:

    **** Automation Engine, Ip, User name, Oracle id - Do not match *****
    old_master=SLEEMAN master=GUINNESS
    old_ip=142.34.166.136 ip=142.34.167.15
    old_user=APPWORX user=APPWORX
    old_oracle_id=appworx oracle_id=appworx
    old_net_connect= net_connect=@AESTT-SCAN
    Change Database to new values [N] ?Y

    But I ended up with the following error:

    Finished at 07/02/20 11:52:27 Elapsed Time 00:00:34 script aw_install
    **** Updating Automation Engine name changes - this can take a few minutes*****
    ***** Error setting Automation Engine, Ip, User name, Oracle id *******
    Fatal Error occurred - check the log /u02/appworx/GUINNESS/install/aw_install.log
    ==================
    Requested processes "all" not running
    stopso done
    Installation exited with errors

    I checked the u02/appworx/GUINNESS/install/aw_install.log but it was not helping. I tried to search for the installation script and found it could be having issue while updating SO_OPERATORS table. I validated it with SQL command to update the master agent name in the SO_OPERATORS table it gave me ORA-04091 error implying the rename of master agent did not work.

    Any comment?

    Hello Charles Huang

    I am also getting the same error while trying to upgrading Automic Application Manager.

    Were you able to figure out solution for the above issue ?

    Regards
