  • 1.  SOI - creating a Certificate request (CSR) for implementing https

    Posted Feb 28, 2020 01:50 PM
    Hi SOI-land,

Does SOI support me to creating a CSR to submit to our internal security certificate authority, for importing into SOI?

I am reading the OpenSSL in the SOI doc and it appears to create a self-signed certificate.  Internal security does not want me to do that.  They want me to send them a csr and then import the certs into SOI.

Please help, this is  a bit confusing for me.

    Hope the question makes sense...thanks

    ~Waverly

Can anyone assist with  the procedure in the SOI doc?  Something is missing in the steps.  I keep getting errors when i run the following:

    openssl.exe req -x509 -new -nodes -key CASOIRoot.key -days 3650 -out CASOIRoot.pem

    I appreciate your help,
    Waverly

What was the exact solution for this question ? I´m seeing the same problem when using the command from the documentation.

    openssl.exe req -x509 -new -nodes -key CASOIRoot.key -days 3650 -out CASOIRoot.pem

You can create your self-signed certificate and issue a CSR from it. Import the signed Certificate back and it should work. This how I'm usually doing it.
