We are looking to integrate VROPs with Spectrum. The traps from VROPs send the host name in one of the varbinds which may or may not match the device name in Spectrum. There are two reasons for this.... device may contain FQDN or short name.
If we make use of Southbound Gate Way based integration, device name may not match while looking for a model to forward the trap or event.
Is there any way to convert the host name to IP Address and store it in a event message variable to forward the events/traps based on IP to the correct model.
How can we avoid this situation? Please suggest.
