    How do I debug an group of ep agents that stopped and can not restart?

    When trying to restart ep agent get the error pop up, "Windows could not start the CA APM Environmental Performance Agent on Local Computer.  For more information, review the System Event Log.  If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to the service-specific error code 1."

    This comes after patching windows hosts.

    Hi Walter,

    By default the EPAgent uses the JAVA_HOME Windows environment variable so perhaps if Java has been updated the environment variable is out of date and no longer valid? Alternatively if JAVA_HOME has been hard set in that same file then perhaps that is now invalid?

    To get DEBUG logs (EPAGENT_HOME\logs directory)  from the service wrapper startup edit the EPAService.conf and set:

    wrapper.debug=TRUE

    wrapper.logfile.loglevel=DEBUG

    Hope that helps.

    Regards,

    Lynn
