SDM 17.1 but this would apply to any recent release as this is maileater and text_api related.

    Use Case:
Customer is currently sending email to supervisors when approvals are required.  The body of the email have mailto tags to open a new email which is populated with the appropriate maileater tags with either approval or rejection.  For example:

    "start-request"
    %Request=1594879%
    %status_persid=crs:40003
    "end-request"

They would like to capture any comments from the supervisor and then include these in the outgoing Update Status email template when the status changes.

It looks like the only way to capture comments is to use the %LOG= tag.
If they have comments, they are instructed to add them after the %LOG= line.

    Issue:
But this results in no comment description associated with the ST activity type and, instead, we get a separate Log Comment entry.  This can't be used because we would need to know which element of the log entry array this was captured and it doesn't look like that can be captured programmatically since the Update Status activity has already fired when the Log Comment is created.

Does anyone know of a solution using maileater?  I know the ChangeStatus() SOAP method has an optional 'description' attribute which will associate with the ST activity and I've used this in PAM before as it pulls the correct entry for use in the Update Status message template.

    TIA,

    J.W.
