    Hello,

We have some projects that have versions old as 10 years and the data base is very big.

Oracle DBA has requested us as Harvest admin to reduce the size of data base.

Using archive or move, is an idea, but, how to keep the projects running?

They have CA Librarian too for mainframe, and Librarian lets them to discard old versions. They want to do the same.

    Regards,

Based on the way Harvest builds revisions with pedigrees, I don't think previous revisions can be removed. For example, you can't delete revision 0 from 10 years ago, because every revision since then is built off of that one. What you can do is create a snapshot and then create a new repository based on that snapshot, which will put all the revisions back to 0 and then archive the original repository.

    Hello,

That is true, but it does not release space at the data base.

If there is no need ( such as regulatory reporting) to leave the repository in the database, once you've created the new one, you could delete it.
