    Hi all,

I remember in earlier versions, like 6.5.  You could set up a dashboard which had many child pages, then set the main 'top' page so alarms from child pages propagated to the main page. Much like the USM does now with the devices below the tiles.

I'm assuming this was deprecated a long time ago, just wondered if anyone misses it or would like to see this feature back?

I'm also sure there was an 'auto scale' dashboard for the screen size you're using, I think that got deprecated too.  I still miss that feature, anyone else?

I'll raise an idea if so.

the same paradigm does not exist.
but you can add other dashboards as data sources.
You can also point widgets at other dashboards.

I have not tried multiple nested dashboards using this method but I do not see why it would not work.

Yes, you can link several child pages but recommendation is to not do more than 3-levels deep for performance reasons.

    Great news!

I've tried adding a dashboard as a data source (forgot that could be done) but the alert on the child page isn't propagating.  There is a threshold currently breaching so it's a good time to test.

Any thoughts on why it wouldn't propagate?

Can post screenshots if it would help.

    Cheers,
    Sam

What version of UIM/UMP (and hotfix) are you running?

    Hi Sam,

I just tested this and it works as expected and propagates the highest level current alarm.

At the top or parent level Dashboard, you have to link it to the child of course (you probably already did that if you drill down into the child dashboard), but then make sure you set the Data Source for the top level dashboard to the child dashboard, and select it. Save it. View it in Live View.

    Hi Stephen!

Ahhh, I see my mistake here.  Apologies, it's been a while since I used this functionality.

I'm using the rev counter widget, with thresholds set within the UMP, not an actual alarm from the console.  I've just set up an alarm widget with a source from the alarm console and it's propagating as I would've expected.

Thanks for clearing this up for me

    Cheers,
    Sam
