Is it supported to upgrade a 6.4.3 Jasperserver on Windows 2012 to Jasper 7.1.1.1? The documentation suggests no (however in the same document mentions a windows setup.bat)
I have upgraded my test jasperserver and it upgrades fine - what am i missing?

    cheers
    Matt

    Hi Matthew,
The CABI 7.1.1 is not supported on the Windows platform, even though you are able to install it.
But CABI 7.1.1.1 (7.1.1 SP1) no longer allows installing on the Windows platform. CABI 7.1.1 SP1 can be download from Spectrum 20.2.5 release.

That's annoying. Add it to the list I guess.

    Thanks for the response Silvio.

    Hi Silvio,

Tibco, the original producer of JasperReports Server 7.1.1 is supporting several Windows Versions
    (https://docs.tibco.com/pub/js-rptsrvr-amxbpm/7.1.1/TIB_js-rptsrvr-amxbpm_7.1.1_relnotes.pdf).
Why is Broadcom not supporting it for their CABI JasperReport Server 7.1.1? It can be no technical reason, or?

We have several customers running CABI on Windows. With CABI 7.1.1.1 they now will be obliged to change to Linux.
How can I explain that to the affected customers?

BTW: Actual version at Tibco is 7.8.0 still supporting Windows.

    Best regards
    Gregor

I'm very interested in this as well as the attempts to get JasperSoft 7.1.1 running on a linux box have been unsuccessful so far.  The requirement for a GUI interface for the install is the big catch.  Why can't we just run it on Windows since Tibco supports it?

Hi Josh, meanwhile we've installed latest JasperServer 7.1.1.1 successfully in testenvironments with Centos Linux 7.7 and 8.0, but our customers are still more interested in a version installable on Windows. Best rgds Gregor

Yeah we can't even get that far.  The documentation on the wiki for CABI installation is incredibly vague and inaccurate.  I honestly don't know if we're going to be able to use it at all at this point.  Very frustrating indeed.
