Does anyone know what type of timesheet notifications are sent?

For instance, if time is submitted for approval by a manager, an email would be sent to the employee.

Also, does anyone have any solutions as to how to manage it globally?

    Thanks

    Aaron

    Hi All,

Any input for Aaron? If not you may want to check Support site on this one as it looks like something that would be a KB.

    Thanks!
    Chris

    Hello Aaron

3 types of notifications are sent -

    1. As you correctly mentioned - Email - email address needs to be specified
    2. SMSEmail - SMSEmail address (phone #) needs to be addedd to the SMS Address field. Configuring the SMS notifications is required ...
    3. Action Items

Setting for all of the above modes (whether to receive he notification/ not), can be found under Personal (menu) > Account Settings > Notifications

    Regards

The way we have Clarity set up it does the following:

    1. When you submit a timesheet, your manager gets an email - depending on how you have this set up (the upward management chain could receive this email as well which was a problem for us; what we did is notify our Directors and CIOs to turn this notification off in Account Settings)
    2. When a timesheet is returned the employee I believe gets an email

The best thing to do is really test all the cases for a timesheet since I have not been able to find a good piece of documentation that explains when emails are sent out.

Email notifications for timesheets, out of the box without using a process, is purely driven by timesheet approval right.

The global right should be avoided unless someone in the organization needs to get a notification from every timesheet submitter; this right also has been found to work inconsistently on certain versions.

Try to set up (approver to submitter) instance to OBS, or OBS to OBS rights so that a specific user has the right over everyone on an OBS (and descendant if desired); or everyone on an OBS has the right over everyone on another OBS (and descendants if desired).

Whoever has the timesheet approval right over another user, will get an email when that user submits a timesheet. But if you want to have email sent NOT based on this access right but resource/project hierarchy and properties, such as based on who the Resource Manager of the submitter is, you would need a process.
