Upgrade from UAPM 11.3.4 to APM 14.1, mdb update errors with: The ALTER TABLE statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "AVIVJOIN01"

    PROBLEM

    On upgrade from UAPM 11.3.4 to APM 14.1, (OR from UAPM 11.3.4 to APM 12.9)  the mdb portion of the installation fails with this error in the install_mdb.log:

    The ALTER TABLE statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "AVIVJOIN01". The conflict occurred in database "mdb", table "dbo.arg_itemver".

     

    SOLUTION

    This is caused by not running the health check utility reports in 'Report and correct' mode, prior to installing the new APM upgrade release.
