Hi,
To my knowledge there is no such document as it would be quite comprehensive. I'll try to give you a brief overview of all the steps needed.
Lets approach this from the top: how to create a report?
CA BSI reports are based on results of metric calculations. So you will need a formula to do a calculation. In BSI, these formulas reside in Business Logics. Business Logics are attached to Metrics and Metrics can be found in Contracts. The metrics and contracts provide the context in which the business logic can do the calculation.
The input for the Business Logic calculations are Raw Data Events. These events are generated by Adapters that collect data from different data sources. Events must be related to a resource which represents configuration elements (CI's).
So you need:
- a contract
- a metric inside the contract
- a business logic attached to the metric.
- Raw data events generated by an adapter.
- Resources to attach to events
With all the elements in place, the CA BSI engine can do the calculations. You can then use the Report Wizard to create reports based on the calculation results.
The CA BSI documentation shows all the different elements and how to use them.
If you're new to BSI, I strongly suggest you take the BSI training from CA Education.
best regards,
Koen
