  • 1.  Install Portal 3.5 with Gateway 9.1 · Software

    Posted May 11, 2016 06:09 AM

    Hello CA Community,

I am trying to install the API Developper Portal 3.5 (Software) and my API Gateway is in version 9.1

During installation, I get the following message :

"Unable to determine the Gateway version you are running!"

Which version of API Developper Portal should I use, please ? I can't find any information in the release notes.

    Thank you for your help

    Hello chovine,

The versions you mentioned are compatible however an update is required to the Portal setup script to recognize Gateway 9.1. I would recommend opening a new case so we may track this with the team and get the new script posted for you.

Feel free to contact me with any questions, thank you.

    Regards,

    Joe

    Thank you dasjo02,

I open a case in the support and they told me that the new script was being developed.

    Best regards,

    Clotilde

    Hi GARMA26,

The issue affected both 3.5 and 3.5CR1.

3.5CR2 (when it comes out, no ETA) will include direct support for Gateway v9.1.00.

In the meantime, I have updated scripts that I'll be uploading today to the Support Portal Downloads section (soon to be support.ca.com) which will include support for Gateway v9.1.00. They'll be uploaded within the next few hours.

UPDATE 2016-12-09: I have published a KB article on this topic.

    Sincerely,

    Hello Dustin,

I'm trying to install the portal 3.5 with gateway 9.1 in a test environment; I was looking on the new download section at support CA for portal 3.5 but I cannot find this new script.

I only see the file DVD11110347E.iso  and inside there are only "3.1 with 9.0" and "3.5 with 9.0"

Is there any other place where to download this new script?

    Thanks

    Hi daniele.elia,

I apologize for the inconvenience. It does appear at first glance that the latest scripts aren't there. Thank you for notifying us. I will try to track this down for you and update you as soon as I have an answer.

    Thanks Dustin,

I wasn’t also able to find the path to update gateway from 8.4 to 9.1; it seams that in moving from old portal to CA support something got lost…

I did a work around before, but this will be dangerous if the gw and portal is not compatible.

    ls /opt/SecureSpan/Controller/lib/layer7-gateway-server*

you should find a file with a current version number of your gateway, for example,

    /opt/SecureSpan/Controller/lib/layer7-gateway-server-9.1.00.jar

The install file will verify this version number, you can create a link to this file with an acceptable version number, for example, portal 3.5 accepts gw 9.0

    ln -s /opt/SecureSpan/Controller/lib/layer7-gateway-server-9.1.00.jar /opt/SecureSpan/Controller/lib/layer7-gateway-server-9.0.00.jar

run ls command again, you will see 2 jar file with different version number.

    install again, it will continue.

Again, this could be dangerous and only if you can't wait for Dustin

Never do this on prod env

    Hi Sravankanumuri,

Temporarily, you can download the packages here:

I apologize for the inconvenience. The download concerns for API Portal files in the new CA Support Online system is still being worked through. The links above work for now but will fail to without notice after the internal system conversion is 100% complete and all the kinks are worked out to provide a better user experience.
