    3.6.4

Provider Functions: Alternative Demand Cost Centers

The licenses for applications that run on platforms in a hosting environment often need to be provided by the hosting customer. This is supported by assigning the effective demand for such applications to the cost center of the customer instead of to the cost center of the platform owner. In order for this to be possible, a new table "Demand transfers" has been added to the "Software" area. A demand cost center can be defined for the combination of device/user and product path/product. Thanks to this new function, table entries are evaluated in the metric engine calculation and the demand is generated for the demand cost center instead of the device/user.

Extension of the Metric Engine IBM PVU: Handling of processor pools

The metric engine IBM PVU is able to handle two-staged processor pools. The demand for hardware and software partitions is calculated under the consideration of processor pools if the metric engine hint "Virtualization capacity" = "Yes" is set.

    Enhancements in the compliance

A new column for licenses with unlimited usage rights has been added to the compliance that shows if a product inherits the unlimited usage right via the downgrade right. Furthermore, an infinity symbol is shown in the column "Downgrade" if the effective demand of the product is covered via the downgrade right of a product with unlimited usage right.
Additionally, in the effective demand table and in the compliance view a column "Effective demand (Pre compliance)" has been added. It shows the number of usage rights which are covered by licenses where the usage right is restricted by a contract scope.

    Further Changes

The report "Consumption of serial numbers" is extended by two columns that contain the information how many installations fulfill the contract scope of a license and how many do not. Moreover, a link from the compliance result table to the report has been added.

A configuration possibility has been added for emails that contain a minimum balance warning. This way it is possible to decide if the mails should only contain the product which violates the minimum balance, or all products that are in the same downgrade path as the very product that violates the minimum balance.

The effective demand view has been extended by six new columns. These columns contain the number of installations and usages (per account / per cost center) that had been considered or ignored for the calculation.

A new field "Information incomplete" has been included in the signature tables for all five raw data types. It allows to mark signatures that do not contain enough information to be mapped to a specific product, but that should not be ignored.

    3.6.3

Extension of the Metric Engine Generic

The metric engine Generic is extended by a parameter which makes it possible to perform a switch in the calculation basis (hardware, user) during the metric engine calculation.

    Manufacturer Support Number for Licenses

To store the manufacturer support number (e.g. Oracle CSI or IBM Customer Number), a new master data table "Manufacturer support types" is now available. Two new fields in the license tables were also added where the support type can be selected and the support number can be entered.

    Further Changes

The compliance check result now allows users to view details for the corresponding requests.

To allow for better quality assurance a new table "Article statuses" has been added in which it is now possible to assign one of the defined article statuses to an article.

The import preprocessor csv_transform is now able to handle multiple input and output files at once. The new parameter "headline" allows users to add a headline.
