Has anyone ever built a custom assertion to support HL7 transformations(from version 3 to earlier versions), or tried to achieve this using regex expressions?

v3 is XML based and thus their are plenty of assertions to manipulate this, however the v2 is EDI based which looks like a delimited message using | character.
