UIM upgrade from 8.5.1 to 20.1

Hi Team,

We are planning to upgrade UIM 8.5.1 to 20.1(8.5.1->9.0.2->20.1)

We have around 4 DB servers, one is primary and other 3 servers connected to primary via logshipping

Two primary hub servers with HA enabled and each primary has two UMP servers connected to HA proxy server.

Please let me know if the below sequence is correct

Disconnect DB servers from logshipping
Run UIM installer on the Primary hub(Primary)
Run UIM installer on the HA hub
Run UMP installer on the primary server for the primary UMP server(connected to Primary hub)
Run UMP installer on the Primary server for the secondary UMP server(connected to Primary hub
Run UMP installer on the HA serverfor the primary UMP server(connected to HA hub)
Run UMP installer on the HA server for the secondary UMP server(connected to HA hub
Once the upgrade is completed enable the logshipping

That sounds like it will work ok.
two things.
1) We do not support UMP attached to secondary hubs and UMP does not have a support HA configuration.
( though we have some clients who have set this up on their own)
2) usually for secondary UMP robots this is done by simply updating the probes on the robot. But running the installer will work as well.

The good news is that the replacement for UMP in 20.3 will have HA functionality :)

Hi Gene thanks for the update.

So if i have to UMP servers connected to the primary , then 

1)upgrade the Primary UMP
2)just upgrade probes in the secondary UMP

Would be enough?

Or we need to follow the below document
