  • 1.  Limits on value for predefined options parameter value

We're trying to create a parameter of type predefined options. We want this parameter to contain two URL options for a source to retrieve a NuGet file from during deployment. The parameter scope we're trying to use is Environment but I don't think it matters for the issue. When adding the options, it appears that there's a char limit on the value that can be added for the options. After adding the two options the Save button in the Create Parameter window is greyed out.

To reproduce this create a new predefined options parameter. Click the List Editor icon next to the Options field. Click Add Before and enter "https://nuget.websource.com/nexus/service/local/nuget/groupone-nuget-read/", click Save. Back on the Create Parameter dialog box you should see that the Save button is not greyed out. Click the List Editor icon next to the Options field. Click Add After and enter "https://nuget.websource.com/nexus/service/local/nuget/pdn-nuget-releases/", click Save. Back on the Create Parameter dialog box you should see that the Save button is greyed out.

I did a bit of testing and it seems that it might be a total char limit of all the option values combined, i.e. if I use a made up shorter URL like "https://nuget.websource.com/nexus/service1" I can add another option value "https://nuget.websource.com/nexus/service2" and the parameter can be saved, but if I try and add a third option value "https://nuget.websource.com/nexus/service3" then the Save button becomes disabled again.

Anyone else come across this issue? Or can someone from Broadcom confirm what the limits on this are?

We are on version 6.6.0.10197. We recently upgraded to this patch version.

I'm from Barclays, site ID 531886

I've just reconfirmed on our instance now that we're on 6.6.0.10197 and I can still see this issue.

    Hi Luke,

I am sorry for the hassles you are experiencing.

We just released a new package (RA 6.6.0.b1022) which will should be ready for download by end of business tomorrow.

But in the meantime, let's get you some help.

@Satish Chipurupalli, @Gregg Stewart can you perhaps try to assist Lukas from Barclays (site ID 531886)?

    Thanks and regards,

    Hi Luke and Gouttierre,
I just validate the issue and it looks like we have a wrongly computed max-length on the input container. In my testing I can find that the issue is we are checking the complete list of option container to be 100 instead of each input entry in it, which result in triggering of I think ng-valid-maxlength.

I validated this in latest version of RA 6.6.0.10228. So I believe the length of the complete options (all together) should not be more than 100.
