Sorry for the delay...we ended up combining a bunch of questions gathered over the past month or so into one document and that took a little longer than I planned!  The document is organized alphabetically by theme -- Access Control Permissions, Administration, Alarms, API, etc., all the way to Validation.

We are happy to use this thread to continue to collect your questions and provide answers (as best as we can!).

This looks a lot like my question during the live webcast:
Q: Does this mean that dynamic thresholds for alarm policies will now allow standard deviation and scalar thresholds? Currently, we can only select a percentage.
A: We have supported dynamic thresholds and standard deviation since UIM 9.0.2 and this will continue with UIM 20.3.

Alarm policies only support percentage based dynamic thresholds today on 9.20 and 20.1 (see photo). Based on some screenshots in the documentation (step 10), it appears that standard deviations and scalar thresholds are only supported with enhanced profiles if you do not use alarm policies.

Alarm policies are enabled by enhanced MCS templates supported thru spooler plugin. Alarm policies shall continue to support both static and dynamic thresholds.
Dynamic alarms are generated based on the moving average of the baseline data that was collected over the previous 28 days. When you specify a threshold value for a dynamic alarm, an alarm is generated when the calculated average of the data reaches the configured percentage above or below the average trend. The calculated average trend can change over time as the collected baseline data changes. If you enter a dynamic threshold of >10% for CPU Usage, and the average trend of CPU Usage for the last 28 days is 85, an alarm is generated when the CPU Usage goes above 95%

For non-MCS based probes, threshold is managed thru probe profile. Standard deviations and scalar thresholds are supported by probe based profile. Profiles based on MCS does not have support of dynamic alarms based on standard deviation.

    Hi Ashish

Thank you for the description, so it sounds like you are saying that enhanced MCS profiles using policies use a scalar (Each threshold is a specific value from the computed baseline) threshold rather than a percentage threshold based on your example. A percentage (Each threshold is a specific percentage of the computed baseline) threshold using your previous example for CPU Usage (85% baseline, 10% dynamic threshold) would be 85% + (85% x 10%) = 85% + 8.5% = 93.5%.

However, this brings into question the documentation I linked to previously (step 10). That step states:
    Select an algorithm to use:
    • None - Select None if you do not want to generate an alarm.
    • Static - Each threshold is a constant value from actual/last value.
    • Scalar - Each threshold is a specific value from the computed baseline.
    • Percent - Each threshold is a specific percentage of the computed baseline.
    • Std Dev - Each threshold is a measure of the variation from the computed baseline. A large standard deviation indicates that the data points are far from the computed baseline. A small standard deviation indicates that they are clustered closely around the computed baseline.

This step makes it seem like you can create profiles based on MCS that support dynamic thresholds based on standard deviation if you don't use alarm policies.

    For TOPOLOGY MANAGER
Q: The Relationship Viewer was "silently" deprecated. What is the plan for a layer 2 relationship viewer
    in UIM 20.3 ++?
A: This functionality is not planned for UIM; you are, however, entitled to DX Operational Intelligence
as part of your UIM entitlement and this solution does provide the topology functionality that you
    seek.

I have looked at our current product download entitlement and still only see UIM 20.10 (DVD500000000002605.iso or DVD500000000002606.iso) under "CA Unified Infrastructure Mgmt Network Advanced Pack - On Prem Partner" for example.  Where do we find the DXops package that we are now entitled to for this functionality replacement.  The Network team uses the existing relationship viewer and would like to urgently see what will be provided when we move flash-free in the Sept/Oct timeframe.

    Thanks, Andrew

    Steven

In the FAQ you had the following
    Q. Regarding Inventory Integration in Operator Console, will we still be able to delete CI (and delete associated QoS) from the new interface?
A: Delete-a-device functionality was made available on Operator Console with UIM 9.2 and will continue with UIM 20.3.

We have looked in both the 9.20 and 20.1 versions of operator console and cannot see how we delete an inventory item nor can we find anything in the standard UIM documentation that even talks about this functionality (let alone describes how to do it).  Would you let me know how to do this or point to a document that describes how to do this.

    Thanks, Andrew

    Hello Steven,

Is it possible for you to share the powerpoint presentation that was shared during the flash free UIM 20.3 Introduction session? If Yes, then please share.

    Thanks,
    Sagar

    Hi Steve,

Can dashboards created in 8.5.1 be exported and imported into the new CABI dashboards?

    Thanks,

Currently, there is no plan to migrate current custom dashboards done in UIM 's custom dashboards to CABI as these are very different technologies.

    Thanks Gene,

I assumed so, but just wanted to clarify.

    Thanks,
