  • 1.  High Portal Disk Inode Count

    Posted Mar 29, 2019 01:07 PM

    Hello,

I have noticed a problem with high inode counts on one of my portals.  Usage was at 100% and caused odd behavior.

    The offending directory is:

    /opt/Deployments/lrs/repository/VERSIONS/xml_content/layer7/APIs/api-availability.xml

It contains a huge number of *.gz files.

    2 questions:

    • What are these files?
    • Can these be safely removed?

    Guidance appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Alejandro

    Hello Alejandro,

every 15  mins or CA API Portal creates a new version of this file, as far as  I know it is useless to keep old versions of this file. Because of this, after certain time, you will get disk full error even there is space in disk since all inodes in the system is consumed.

I also had the same issue and wrote a crontab task to remove these files older than 7 days. It did not cause any problems, but ask CA Support before deleting them.

Yes, you can delete all those gz files.

The KB article API Developer Portal (ADP) runs out of disk space - CA Knowledge provides more details and how to prevent it.
