    Hi All ,

Can anyone please let us know , what amount of Load can a Lisa service sustain for Performance Testing and what impact will be on the server while PT testing going on.

I have been asked this question by my senior that :

Do you know how much load LISA can sustain.

    Classification: Confidential

    Hi Saurabh,

You can have a look at this: https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/devops/devtest-solutions/10-6/installing/installing-and-configuring-devtest-server/post-installation/sample-performance-benchmarks-for-basic-service-virtualization.html

The load LISA can sustain is only limited by the resources of the system on which the VSE is running. So these are some good practices:

    • Get a powerful system, make it dedicated to only running the Performance VSE process
    • Give the VSE enough RAM via JVM option -Xmx=, also assign the immediately the minimum RAM -Xms= equal to the maximum RAM to avoid JVM memory allocation during the load test.
    • Only use default out-of-the-box VSMs (so no customized steps) and run them in "Most Efficient" execution mode
    • Set VSE logging to OFF or ERROR level

Many of the above and more are also mentioned in above documentation.

    Cheers,

    Danny

    Hi Saurabh,

First you need a perf license for the same. Secondly, there are many other factors which will have an impact on load sustained by LISA. Danny already few key one in her post.
-- Count of VS deployed on VSE
-- Type of services deployed on VSE
    -- Log Level
    -- Memory allocation
    -- Machine hardware configuration etc.

    Thanks
