Using the Migration utility

We are migrating from WA DE 12.0.02 to 12.2.
I read the documentation on "upgrade the server using migration method".
It requires that the source server you are migrating from, stop the workload, wait for applications to complete and force complete long runnning applications.
Is it possible to use the migration utility without stopping the workload on the source server?
We don't want to impact out current prod environment by stopping the workload, but want to migrate all artifacts to the new environment.

Hi,

Migration has steps - migrating artifacts , migrating history information. There are chances that if workload is not stopped , the definitions like events might be updated and the migrated definitions may not be the latest. So it is recommended to move the artifacts when the workload is stopped.
