In addition to not being able to see new job types or use new agent group which we are ok with for a few weeks.
We did run into issues with our developer group and applications that use agent groups. we cannot add the new agent group permissions to the group until we have the new desktop client, we will have to limp along with that.
For some reason our desktop team does not want to automatically roll out new desktop client until we do the production upgrade.
Just an FYI in case anyone else does something similar
another note: ESP dseries app upgrade from 12.2 to 12.3 was quick and easy, less than 30 minutes for us in our NON Prod env :)

Thanks Nitin, we are interested in trying the new jobs types so we will have to wait a few more weeks to test them. For some reason one of our teams only wants to roll out new desktop client once when we go to prod. My team has the new desktop client as we did manual install :)

The 12.2 DC can be used to connect to 12.3. You won't see new 12.3 job types in the 12.2 DC. For most part, the old client will work, you can do the monitoring etc. Also, you probably don't have the new job types, there are couple of them in DE side, as they were introduced in 12.3.

- Sept 15 upgrade our non prod env esp dseries app from 12.2 to 12.3, but continue to use 12.2 desktop client until we upgrade prod
- Oct 9 upgrade our prod esp dseries app, at this point roll out the new 12.3 desktop client.
Do you see any issues to continue to use the 12.2 desktop client for our non prod esp dseries for a few weeks? I understand we would not be able to use the new agent group for database agent plugin until we roll out the 12.3 desktop client.
